Notes

Climbing hydrangea (Hydrangea anomala) is a vine for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flowers are fragrant and draw butterflies and bees. Rabbits tend to pass it by. Give it a sturdy support, since it can climb tall.

Pairs well with Patriot hosta, Jacob’s ladder, and Green Velvet buxus.
