Notes

'Coconut Punch' carnation (Dianthus 'Coconut Punch') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The double flowers are wine red with white blotches and smell sweet. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms, which open in spring, summer, and autumn.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, and Black Parrot tulip.
