Notes

'Commander Byrd' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Commander Byrd') is a perennial for borders, cut flower use, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears double white flowers on tall, vigorous plants. Tall stems make a strong show in the back of a border, and you can cut the blooms for vases. Donahue bred it.

Pairs well with Liberty hosta, Prairie dropseed, and African Queen lily.
