Notes

'Commando' peony (Paeonia 'Commando') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double, dark red flowers are fragrant, attract butterflies and bees, and sit on good stems. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Spiked speedwell, Fire Island hosta, and Blue grama.
