Notes

Common lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis) is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil. It forms a slow-growing clump of green and white foliage that stays 6 to 12 inches tall. Blue, pink, and purple flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Humpback Whale hosta, China Town tulip, and Canadian white violet.
