Notes
Pulmonaria (Pulmonaria rubra) is a perennial for ground cover and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part to full shade and average moisture. It grows 9 to 12 inches tall, and red flowers open in early to mid spring. It sits low on the menu for deer. Plant it in drifts to fill a shady spot.
Pairs well with Lady in Red lady fern, Bergenia, and Palm sedge.
