Notes

'Communion Wine' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Communion Wine') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Roger F. Anderson bred it in 1992. It bears large double purple blossoms on a plant with a good habit and reliable foliage. It grows about 30 inches tall.

Pairs well with Moonshine yarrow, Indian grass, and Cheyenne Spirit echinacea.
