Notes

'Comte de Nanteuil' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Comte de Nanteuil') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Jacques Calot bred it in 1858. The tall, upright stems carry fragrant pink blooms with violet shading and a salmon-pink center in early summer.

Pairs well with Monkshood, Prairie dropseed, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
