Notes

'Cornell' peony (Paeonia 'Cornell') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, single, deep red blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Pink Impression tulip, and Limelight hydrangea.
