Notes

'Corsair' peony (Paeonia 'Corsair') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Arthur Percy Saunders introduced it in 1948, and its single dark maroon flowers have ruffled petals above ferny foliage.

Pairs well with Blue star, Sum and Substance hosta, and Christmas fern.
