Notes

'Country Comfort' peony (Paeonia 'Country Comfort') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The flowers are light mauve over cream and open in early to late spring. Butterflies visit the blooms, and Derek Irvine bred it. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Blue star, Balloon flower, Lily, and Greig's tulip.
