Notes

'Couronne d’Or' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Couronne d’Or') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, double white flowers open in late spring with a ring of yellow stamens near the center. The stems are strong, so the blooms hold up well in a vase. The scent is strong, and some people find it disagreeable.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Royal fern, Monkshood, and Spanish bluebell.
