Notes

'Crimson Classic' peony (Paeonia 'Crimson Classic') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Dark red single flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. Chris Laning bred it from Sable and Super D. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The plant grows tall, up to 39 inches.

Pairs well with Royal Standard hosta, Dittany, and Blue grama.
