Notes
'Crispa Gracilis' golden male fern (Dryopteris affinis 'Crispa Gracilis') is a fern for shade gardens, woodland settings, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Its arching fronds give beds a soft, graceful shape. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It grows at a moderate rate.
Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Red trillium, and Western sword fern.
