Notes
'Cristata Angustata' golden male fern (Dryopteris affinis 'Cristata Angustata') is a fern for shade gardens, woodland settings, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Its growth habit is arching, and it grows at a moderate pace. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It also tolerates dry spells.
Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Red trillium, and Western sword fern.
