Notes

'Polydactyla Mapplebeck' golden male fern (Dryopteris affinis 'Polydactyla Mapplebeck') is a fern for shade gardens, woodland settings, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Its arching fronds form a graceful clump that grows at a moderate pace. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Plant it where its shape can soften the edge of a path.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Wood lily, and Western sword fern.
