Notes
'Dai-hasshu' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Dai-hasshu') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its woody stems stay in place year after year, so pick a permanent spot for it. You can also cut the blooms to bring indoors for a vase.
Pairs well with Little Lime panicle hydrangea, Black Parrot tulip, and Christmas fern.
