Notes
'Dandy Man Purple' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Dandy Man Purple') is an evergreen shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Purple flowers with yellow and white speckled throats open in early to late spring, and bees, hummingbirds, and birds visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Large, dark green leaves stay on the plant all year.
Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Green Spice coral bells, and Bouquet peony.
