Notes
'Ramapo' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Ramapo') is a shrub for borders, hedges, shade gardens, and woodland plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Frilly lavender flowers open in early to late spring on a compact mound of small evergreen leaves, and you can prune it after flowering. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Autumn fern, and Coralbells.
