Notes

'Danten-mon' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Danten-mon') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Plant it in a border where it can show off its flowers, or cut stems for the vase. The Chugai Nursery introduced it in 1932. You can pair it with perennials in a mixed bed.

Pairs well with Autumn Frost hosta, Little Lime panicle hydrangea, Prairie dropseed, and Grape hyacinth.
