'Dark Knight' peony (Paeonia 'Dark Knight') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows 24 to 28 inches tall and bears single, dark red flowers with a fragrant scent. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it.
Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Nodding onion, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
