Notes
'Dawn of Rome' peony (Paeonia 'Dawn of Rome') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Pink, fragrant, semi-double flowers have frilled and ruffled guard petals, and they make a fine cut flower. Joshua Scholten bred it in 2022.
Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Dense blazing star, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
