Notes
'Daydream' smoketree (Cotinus coggygria 'Daydream') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, accents, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows fast and reaches 8 to 10 feet tall and wide. Butterflies visit it, and it tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Ornamental onion, and Butterfly bush.
