Notes
'Golden Spirit' smoketree (Cotinus coggygria 'Golden Spirit') is a shrub for borders, specimens, accents, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer tend to pass it by. Butterflies visit it, and it handles dry spells once settled. It grows fast and stands erect, so give it room to reach about 94 inches tall.
Pairs well with Limelight hydrangea, Coronation Gold yarrow, and Lucifer montbretia.
