Notes

'Young Lady' smoketree (Cotinus coggygria 'Young Lady') is a shrub for borders, specimens, accents, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and reaches 4 to 6 feet tall and wide. Butterflies visit it, and it tolerates drought. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Stargazer lily, and Jane magnolia.
