Notes

'Daylight' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Daylight') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It is a Japanese type with large, mid season blooms. White guard petals surround a mass of straw colored staminodes that fade to nearly white with age. Risk bred it, and it blooms freely on stems of medium height.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Nepeta, and Carlton daffodil.
