Notes

Deciduous azalea (Rhododendron atlanticum) is a shrub for borders, accents, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flowers, sometimes flushed with pink, open in early to late spring and smell sweet. Rabbits tend to pass it by. It spreads into a low colony.

Pairs well with American holly, Big bluestem, and Wild bergamot.
