Notes
'Deep Secret' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Deep Secret') is a shrub for borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet soil. It grows slowly into a columnar evergreen that tolerates salt. Bees and birds visit the blooms, which open in winter and spring. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Primrose, Euonymus, Cobra lily, and Loblolly pine.
