Notes

'Demetra' peony (Paeonia 'Demetra') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Double golden flowers with red-rimmed petals sit on strong stems well above the foliage. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Nassos Daphnis bred it, and its name honors the Greek goddess of the earth.

Pairs well with False indigo, Mock orange, and Lily.
