Notes

'Dentata' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Dentata') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Unlike a perennial peony, it keeps its woody stems through winter. Leave the stems in place, because new growth comes from them each spring. Paillet introduced it in 1889.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, Golden Tiara hosta, and Sedge.
