Notes

'Desert Sunset' peony (Paeonia 'Desert Sunset') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Samuel E. Wissing bred it, and it has semi-double, brilliant orange scarlet flowers over good foliage. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Bees and butterflies visit the fragrant blooms.

Pairs well with Standing Ovation little bluestem, Magnus coneflower, and Patriot hosta.
