Notes

'Desire' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Desire') is a shrub for borders, containers, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a tall, columnar evergreen. Bees and birds visit it, and it tolerates salt. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Cherry laurel, Green and gold, and Southern magnolia.
