Notes

'Die Huang' peony (Paeonia 'Die Huang') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Its yellow flowers have blurred red flares and a scent. They face outward, like yellow butterflies dancing in the bushes.

Pairs well with Catmint, Maltese cross, and Big bluestem.
