Notes

'Dixie' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Dixie') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, dark red bomb-type flowers open in late spring on good stems. The plant grows vigorously and forms an upright clump. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it.

Pairs well with Francee hosta, Ostrich fern, and Pincushion flower.
