Notes

'Dohun' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Dohun') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Wada bred it in 1937. You can cut the blooms for indoor arrangements. Its woody stems stay above ground through winter, so it makes a lasting anchor in a perennial bed.

Pairs well with Halcyon hosta, Annabelle hydrangea, and Stargazer lily.
