Domenico Tauro fig

Garden uses

Notes

'Domenico Tauro' fig (Ficus carica 'Domenico Tauro') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun, so give it the hottest, sunniest spot you have. The large breba crop suits cooler summer climates. The figs are grown for fresh eating, drying, jams, and desserts. In the ground it reaches 10 to 20 feet, but you can prune it smaller or grow it in a container or espalier.

Pairs well with Persimmon, Blueberry, and Artichoke.
