Notes

'Don Egolf' Chinese redbud (Cercis chinensis 'Don Egolf') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Rosy-mauve flowers open from early to late spring and attract butterflies, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The dense form reaches 10 to 12 feet tall.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Snake's head, and Arrowwood viburnum.
