Notes

'Forest Pansy' Texas redbud (Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy') is a tree for borders, specimens, woodland gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Rosy pink flowers open in spring, and bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit it. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The multi-stemmed form grows at a moderate rate.

Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Amsonia, Little bluestem, and Witch hazel.
