Notes

'Don Juan' rose (Rosa 'Don Juan') is a climbing shrub for borders, cottage gardens, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its fragrant dark red blooms open in late spring, then return in summer and autumn. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers. Michele Malandrone bred it in 1958.

Pairs well with Jackmanii clematis, Serotina common honeysuckle, and Feather reed grass.
