'Donkelaari' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Donkelaari') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its woody stems stay above ground through winter, so you can leave them in place. Cut the blooms to bring indoors.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Garlic chives, Queen of Night tulip, and Buffalo grass.
