Notes

'Dorsett Golden' apple (Malus domestica 'Dorsett Golden') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Mrs Dorsett bred it in 1954, and bees visit the spring blooms. It is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination. The fruit does not keep, so use it soon after picking.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, American persimmon, Prairie dropseed, and Wild geranium.
