Notes

'Dumbo' winter begonia (Bergenia ciliata 'Dumbo') is a perennial for ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first. Pink spring flowers rise on upright stems above huge, fuzzy, round to oval leaves that can reach 14 inches across. The evergreen leaves blush pink to reddish in winter, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Snowdrop, Grape hyacinth, and St. John's wort.
