Notes

Dyer's broom (Genista tinctoria) is a shrub for rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy soil. It grows slowly into an erect mound 24 to 36 inches tall and wide. Yellow flowers open in early to late summer, and the green foliage looks tidy all season. It tolerates drought once settled in.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Woolly yarrow, and Blue grama.
