Notes

'Edda' clematis (Clematis 'Edda') is a vine for containers, cottage gardens, and specimen use, and it also works as a privacy screen. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist soil. Large, semi-double purple blooms with dark red bars open freely from spring through summer on stems 3 to 4 feet long. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Its compact habit suits a small garden or balcony.

Pairs well with Green Spice coral bells, Incrediball hydrangea, and Little bluestem.
