Notes

'Edward' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Edward') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The blooms are black-red with a full center of stamens, three rows of guard petals, and coral-tipped carpels. Flowers are abundant and keep a clear color without fading. Mrs. Walter Campbell Lyman bred it.

Pairs well with Guacamole hosta, Indian grass, and Incrediball hydrangea.
