Notes

'Ellenwilder' peony (Paeonia 'Ellenwilder') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The fragrant salmon flowers are single with two rows of petals and pale yellow anthers. Benjamin W. Guppy bred it in 1926.

Pairs well with David garden phlox, Blue Mouse Ears hosta, Queen of Night tulip, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
