Notes

'Elsa Sass' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Elsa Sass') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The globular white blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies. Hans Peter Sass bred it.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Globemaster allium, Foxglove, and Armenian cranesbill.
