Notes

'Emerald Blue' moss phlox (Phlox subulata 'Emerald Blue') is a perennial for rock gardens, ground cover, borders, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a creeping mat and blooms from early to late spring, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the flowers. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It handles drought and salt well.

Pairs well with Eastern columbine, Mount Hood daffodil, and Paprika yarrow.
