Notes

'Blue Emerald' moss phlox (Phlox subulata 'Blue Emerald') is a perennial for rock gardens, ground cover, borders, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It forms a creeping, evergreen mat that spreads 12 to 24 inches and handles drought and salt. Blooms open in early to late spring and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Gold dust, Bressingham Ruby bergenia, and Red fescue.
