Notes

'Red Wings' moss phlox (Phlox subulata 'Red Wings') is a perennial for rock gardens, ground cover, borders, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It blooms in early to late spring and attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. The evergreen mat spreads 12 to 24 inches.

Pairs well with Cerise Queen yarrow, Red fescue, and Common juniper.
